Bluebonnets 2015

A requirement for all Texas babies is an annual bluebonnet photo shoot.  A rainy, cool winter caused a late bloom in our part of Texas, but boy howdy are the flowers in full force now!  Unfortunately, we're still fighting rainy weekends.

On Friday after church, we took our sweet Texas baby for a romp in a nearby bluebonnet field.  Of course the heavens let loose as soon as we arrived.  The rain finally just turned to spit, so we had about 5 minutes to snap photos before the spit turned back into a down pour.  These aren't the best pictures.  The novelty of flowers, the mist, and other children were quite the list of distractions for Man Cub.  He thought it was much more fun to pull off the bluebonnet petals and eat them than to smile for us.  Silly boy!  But, if the weather doesn't cooperate before the flowers are overgrown, I'm happy with what we have.

These pictures are extra special because the rocking chair was made by my granddad's grandfather.  Man Cub is the 4th generation to use this little chair.  I love it!

Thanks, Lucy! My hubby took them; he does a great job, and he's teaching me as we go. :)
