I've never dreaded a Friday so much in my life. I have to return to work on Monday after maternity leave, and it is the cruelest, most unimaginable thing in the modern western world. But that's for a whole different post. For now, let's focus on some fun things from this most precious week!
One: Man Cub is 12 weeks old today. I praise God each day that I've had 12 beautiful weeks at home with this dear child. There is no where else on the planet I'd rather be...ok, maybe with Man Cub and Isaac in Zambia with all our loves there, but Man Cub must be there too!
Two: I've gotten to spend a lot of time the last two weeks at my grandparents' house with Man Cub and the pups. There is so, so much joy on those days. The mutual, genuine affection between Nanny and Dede and their precious great-grandson is beautiful. I've been able to go to doctor's appointments and take care of things and know that my baby is in the same hands that cared for me religiously as a child. I am so grateful for family and keeping family members close together. These memories are so valuable and can never be taken from us.
Three: My sweet friend Courtney and her family are in the process of a domestic adoption. They are diligently praying for their new addition and his/her birth family. I know that all parties involved will see God's face through this. Would you consider helping them financially by buying a t-shirt? They also come in pink, ladies' sizes, and youth sizes. I cannot wait to watch God receive the glory as this story unfolds!
Four: I made this cheesy, bacon, mushroom chicken goodness off Pinterest this week. Heavenly. Don't even tell me the calorie count. Ignorance is bliss in this situation. Isaac even told me that he's ok with me not cooking healthy once every few weeks just so we can cheat with this. Yum!
Five: My mommy makes the blog today. She's far away at the moment, supposed to be enjoying vacation, but she has spent time daily interceding with Almighty God on my behalf as our little family has had to battle through some tough decisions and hard days. She's always been my prayer warrior and champion, and I'm so grateful. Humbled too. Nobody ever out grows the need of their mother. I love you, Mommy. You'll always be my favorite.
