Linking up with Sami.
Friday was a long overdue date night. I had accumulated some gift cards to Cheesecake Factory, so we treated ourselves to dinner and dessert with enough left over for another meal. It's always loud in there, but we still had a fabulous time making plans for the holidays, talking about our trip to AZ in several weeks, and talking about our church.
Saturday was all about work and game day, but first we had to start off the day with free Chick-fil-A breakfasts. Thank you, Chick-fil-A!!
Two fabulous 6th grade world geo and I are being paid (cough, cough) to write priority standards for our curriculum. We met at Ashley's house, knocked out two hours of work, laughed tons thanks to Katy's huge personality, and went our separate ways to watch some football. If I have to work on the weekend, that's the way I want to do it!
So, the Aggie game didn't go the way we wanted, but it was an awesome game, and we had fun cheering them on at my parents' house. It wasn't a washout, and I think the Boys of Fall learned a lot about their weaknesses. The 12th Man showed up in full force showing 'Bama and the SEC what Aggie traditions are all about. We're classy folks. I know tons of people who don't like us, poke fun at us for being hicks, don't want us to win in sports, etc, but I don't know a soul who can't respect us because of our class. The positive press that came out of this weekend for Aggieland is inspiring. Gig 'em! And hey, any time spent with family, food, football, and pups is never a waste!
Sunday was full of time spent in the Word, worship, and teaching. I love that for musicians, Christmas has already started. It's a long road to prepare for all the Christmas concerts, and I enjoy spreading it out all Fall.
