A week ago, a handful of the teachers at my school gathered in the evening for some painting. It was the end of STAAR testing week (state testing) and we all needed to de-stress. We met at a teacher's home, and are fabulous art teacher brought all of the supplies. This time of fun, eating, laughing, and freak out moments of where to put the next brush stroke were exactly what we all needed. Our art teacher was so patient and encouraging with each of us. We all went home happy with what we had made. I think this might become a yearly, if not semesterly, tradition for our campus.
